The Villa at Levens

A first for me shooting a wedding on a New Years Eve.
The venue was The Villa at Levens, the weather...well it was New Years Eve so it was as expected.....wet.

The morning started off as most do, all bridal prep and a bit of groom prep. ( the boys hate it )
Joking aside what a wonder place the Villa is. Jenna had the wonderful Megan Hartley to do the make up for the girls. Megan does an amazing job, definitely on of the best I have worked with.
The boys have to fend for themselves :P

Nice surprise when the groom and his groomsmen turned up... Jay got the Porsche of course but 3 wheeler got the attention.
The boys did manage to grab a few poses between the showers.

Beautiful Ceremony, The Villa pulled out all the stops. We had a Gospel choir singing along with the ceremony, again another first for me.
Everything went to plan, Jenna had definitely covered all bases with this wedding.

The rain stopped just in time for the Bride and Groom to do a dove release. Now I have done these before, and you don't get a second go at catching this on camera so it was a case of checking, double checking and treble checking my camera settings before I gave the shout to let them go.

For me the main feature of Levens is the magnificent wooden staircase they have in their entrance hall. This the is place to nail the main photos.
With the added bonus of the Christmas Tree still present it made for some fantastic photos.
I was not needed for the reception which is held in an annexe separate from the main building and to access it you had to walk outside, and yes...the heavens had decided to open and give everything it had.
Luckily Jenna and Jay had their own way of getting there.
